AI product · Open sourceFolaio: a private AI study coach that learns your textbooks
A desktop study coach that trains its own neural network on a student's PDFs, answers with page references, and builds quizzes, study plans, and exam insights. It runs 100% offline on an ordinary laptop, with no GPU and no cloud.

Most AI tools know a little about everything. But students need answers that match their own syllabus, and they need to know the answer isn't made up.
Folaio flips the approach. Instead of a giant model in the cloud, it builds a small, private brain from the student's own textbooks, and every answer points back to the page it came from. If the books don't cover something, Folaio says so. It never guesses.
Answers you can check, page by page
Ask a question in plain language and Folaio answers from your own textbooks, with the page number beside every point.
1234- Straight from your bookEvery answer names the textbook it came from.
- Page referencesEach point links to its page, so students can verify and read more.
- In simple wordsAn optional tiny language model, run locally with llama.cpp, rephrases the answer plainly.
- Quiz me on thisTurn any answer into practice questions with one click.
A study coach, not just a chatbot
Folaio tracks what each student knows and turns their books into a plan for exam day.
The whole story in 24 seconds
Answers from your book, with the page number.
Folaio's launch video tells the story in a social-ready 4:5 format for launch posts and reels: the problem, the product, and why it's private.
- Opens with the student's real problem
- Walks through answers, study tools, and past papers
- Ends on privacy: offline, no GPU, open source
Its own neural network, trained on your books
No large cloud model required. Folaio's core is a custom neural network written in NumPy that trains on a student's PDFs in seconds.
PDFs added to the local library, never uploaded anywhere
Trains on the student's own books in seconds, on a normal laptop
Answers, quizzes, plans, and checks, each tied to a page
llama.cpp explains answers in simple words, still offline
Designed for trust
The answer checker doesn't just grade. It points out the exact parts of an answer that aren't in the book. Write "inflation can also be caused by the moon," and Folaio asks you to double-check it. That's the difference between an AI that sounds right and one students can rely on.
